Monica's Bio

Monica Trela is a Master of Social Work student at Wilfrid Laurier University and has completed her undergraduate degree at Trent University in a joint major in Biology-Psychology (B.Sc.) with honours. She then went on to gain a post-graduate certificate in Addictions and Mental Health Counselling at Durham College.

Monica has experience working at a shelter for youth and families and working with people who struggle with substance misuse and mental health issues. She is Interested in working with children, adolescents, and young adults.

Opening up as a young person can be difficult, but Monica is patient and non-judgemental in her approach, identifying as an ally to LGBTQ+ and as an advocate for neurodivergent individuals.
